Oil Top Up

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by freshage, Apr 22, 2023.

  1. I'm in the arse end of nowhere in spain and today I noticed the usual oil consumption from the multi has put the level at the bottom line. I should be OK for a few days, but if I'm in a pinch, will it really make any difference if I use a different viscosity for a few days? I can't for the life of me find the usual shell 15w50 4t.

I'll be changing the oil after the trip anyway, and I know this is a open discussion as some say fine and others not. But if anyone has insights that would be good.

  2. It will be fine, you’ll just end up with a blended viscosity that’s all. As long as what you can get is suitable for the temperatures you have there it will work.

  3. He’s right but if you Google Ducati dealerships on your route they are bound to have 15-50 in stock.

Pm me about your route. We dock in Santander in the morning, maybe we can meet.

  4. Good shout, will do. Currently in Lloret de Mar (don't judge, good roads :D).
