I'm musing over new project for the winter. Probably fitting a testaretta engine in oldie bikey again. What I'm hoping to do this time around is use the newer bikes loom, ecu and digi dash. But, what is coded to what? I assume the ecu is ok to swap about, as I've done this on previous bikes, is the key coded to the dash? So a second hand dash is no good without the matching key? Confused...
On the 749/999 the dash and the ECU are coded On the later bikes like 848/1098/1198 only the dash is coded and the ECU is virgin Your other consideration is CANBUS as a number of sensors use this to communicate between the clocks and ECU You need to liaise with Skidlids over on the DSC forum. He has done this mod on his Desmodue bike.
Cheers Chris, My original plot was to use 1098 ecu and loom but retain the old skool clocks... Don't think this is doable! Looks like options are limited if I want to use the 1098 ecu and loom.... Need a facia and key set!
