  1. Keep up Steve! read post #45

  2. Or you could say Louigi Moto is inside CJS :) The unit is shared. At CJS we still do engines and all the Performance engine combinations that work and that were developed by CJS are still available, but the engines will be assembled next door instead to the same high standard . This is because The cylinderhead work and dyno tuning is in such demand I can no longer assemble the engines myself. However to the point . I would go for the pistal R2000 pistons in standard bore size , They will give the same increase as the big bore version without the expense of boring the engine. However V power fuel would have to be used. But then again who would use any different in a performance ducati :)

  3. I don't want more power, I want more reliability, if possible.

    The waiting is killing me!

  4. The only way for reliability is a professional blueprint including crank balance and a full remap to finish and fine adjust the fuelling.

  5. That is the plan Chris.

  6. Right stuff starting to happen. Still waiting on some parts though. Somewhere over the Atlantic by the look of it.

Heads skimmed of .2mm so squish should be 1.05mm.

    Discs arrived for BST's.

I get back from Angola next weekend so fingers crossed that everything comes together and I can make the next meeting on the 10th of August:smile:

  7. bsts are incredible.
    I have a set on my 9s
without doubt the best performance upgrade money can buy imho :)

  8. So no one spotted the fuck up in my last post. It would appear that my mechanic has skimmed 0.2mm from my heads instead of changing base gaskets to set the squish at 1.0mm. I'm waiting to hear why he did this.

Anyone know what the implications are?

  9. It's only 8 thou' I guess that could be made up on the base gasket to achieve deisred squish.

At least you know you have flat head faces now!

  10. Ok so a bit of a misunderstanding between my mech and myself, he is Italian!. He has skimmed the heads 0.2mm but hasn't done anything about squish yet as we are still waiting for parts which includes cylinders and pistons. When he assembles he will set the squish at 1.05 to 1.1 mm. Then there are a set of MBP light weight adjustable cam pulleys going on so will set the cam timing at 107/107 and check valve to piston clearance. And yep, nice flat heads :upyeah:

Starting to get quite excited, what with balanced bottom end, new rings, bearings and seal this should be a better than new engine.

  11. Not sure if you have but might be an idea to change the bottom end bolts and shells. Mine have just come loose on track

  12. Oooooooh, very excited today as my engine should arrive this afternoon. Bit sad as well because I am going to have to leave the track early to receive it when I should have been racing.

The final build details are, blue printed and balanced, new bearings and seals throughout, squish set at 1 mm, MPB light weight adjustable cam wheels fitted and exh set at 107 and inlet 111 (because of valve piston clearance) 5 rockers, new rings and new belts. Also fitted were second hand pistons, cylinders and one set of valves.

Looks like I have plenty to do for the next few days.

  13. Sophia lives! Everything went back together quicker than I thought and she fired right up, what a beaut. Now just need to get to the dyno to get the PC mapped. Looks like we are in for a week of shit weather so not much chance of a ride this week but fingers crossed. Decided to give the brakes a set of new hoses tomorrow for the eagle eyed of you.
