  3. Are people mad????

  4. Even funnier when the officials decide to take them off them at the end ...... why would anyone want to spend that much on a metal fire lighter?
I suspect these auctions will be stopped...would you part with all that money before the object was even in the sellers hands I think not.

  5. According to the news stories there is nothing the organisers can do. Plenty people making moneyfrom the Olympics. Capitalism at its worst / best depending on point of view.

One young lad was selling his to give the money to the charity he was raisng money for.

  6. Yes I read they had to buy the torches... seems like a lot of people now selling the torches for "charity" ...

I couldn't believe the merchandise costs .... and I just hope all the stuff we build for it does not turn into white Elephants.

  7. Of course they could have stopped it. Part of agreement they make them sign that they will not sell the torch, if they want to do it for charity they designate few places where they can sell it and only on behalf of registered charities. Number each torch and if they pop up for sell track them down. It is all about money but in wrong way sadly, entire Olympics is about rich people not sports people taking part.

  8. £130K for what looks like a baffle!
