  3. Fuck,fuck, fuckerdy fuck fuck.
England were fantastic and thoroughly deserved to win. 1 bloody penalty kick.

What a bloody shame. Our South African friends are admitting they are fortunate to have won.

I’m more gutted than the last final because we deserved to win this but not the last final.

Well done to the England team. I’m very pleased to say they proved me wrong and put on a fantastic show.

  4. I was looking forward to going to the bookies to collect my £120 winnings !!

Still the £20 bet was money well spent !

  5. Don’t want to pop your bubble, but if that’s what you call a fantastic show, then I don’t know!

Hopefully, in the final, we will see 2 teams that want to play open, expansive and exciting rugby, to make it the spectacle that it deserves to be.

  6. As has been said many times, you can only play what’s in front of you. England did just that and for 77 minutes it worked, South Africa were rattled, used their entire bench with over 20 minutes left on the clock, if they had an injury in that time they would have been done.

Farrells drop goal took them by surprise and the Boks were under more pressure than they expected.

    Great game,

  7. I can’t see it being exciting, but hope it is, South Africa were hanging and still suffering from last weeks game. ABs have an extra day to recover and look the stronger team. As England were reminded last night it’s attritional, that’s a major part of the game, who is the fittest and strongest at the end.

  8. Hmmm, I ain't gonna argue with a voice of experience.... :D

  9. Ahhh, getting you frustrated and anxious hun?

  10. Yeah the whole thing was frustrating, nothing really happened of note, but the final minute must have been gutwrenching for those plucky losers. Hun.

  11. I couldn’t agree more.

What a relief, though, that in the end, the team that scored the single and only try in 80 minutes prevailed. The opposite would have been seriously disturbing, to say the least…

PS: I can’t stand Farrell’s attitude towards the refs, his constant nagging and whining, but his drop goal was absolutely fantastic. What a competitor!

  12. three Calcutta Cups and two world wars..:D
    .
i haven't been watching too many games. with no skin in the game now that Scotland and France are out, i went in to watch, genuinely thinking it would an exciting game to watch. it was just as Dull as the other English draw i watched.
WTF has happened to the English game?

  14. It was a good game because:

    • A bit of a kicking game from England is always good to see because anything can happen. More exciting than slamming into each other every few yards and moving slowly up the pitch trading bruises.
    • A couple of shirt-pulling fights :D
    • Owen Farrell
    • South Africa were rattled and had to think their way out of it. Manie Libbok coming off early was a sign of something going wrong for South Africa. And we thought we were in with a chance.
    • Competitive game to the last minute.

South Africa chose not to take the points for a couple of early penalties - a bit of a wasted opportunity for them.
Was that Manie Libbok's call not to take the points ? no wonder they took him off early then

Good game, and a worthy semi. The Kiwis are going to flatten them in the final !!

  15. Quite frankly i'm fed up with the negative connotations regarding England, they did exactly what they needed to do on the day by controlling the game and nearly winning it, there're fine margins in this game at this level for both sides in my opinion.
It all went wrong when Marler & Cole stepped down, the replacements have the experience and should've played better, their poor performance gave the opposition pitch position for striking for points when we starved them for 50 odd minutes beforehand.
As for Billy Vunipola he came on totally cold twice and not match alert and let that late try in.

The bottom line is that we can hold our heads high again after that effort.

As for watching the final, i probably won't watch it as it's the same old teams winning.

  16. As a neutral I think England deserved to win, I didn’t think they helped themselves by upsetting the ref. He didn’t give them a single 50:50 decision all night and I think the Springbok got away with a few things but that is history now. Not a great game by any stretch but England were the better side by a margin.

  17. It is also worth remembering that the Springbok only won by one point in the quarter final and the semi-final which they were very lucky to win.

  18. No prizes for best losers. ;)

  19. I never suggested that there should be, however, the Springbok are extremely lucky to have made the final of the World Cup.
