Hi, I'm trying to replace the spark plugs on my 1200 Monster (2014). The side plug HT caps are easy to pull off, but the plug cap at the top of the horizontal cylinder won't pull off and appears to be stuck solid....anyone else experience this ??
They can be buggers as they get stuck in the hole. What I’ve done is to spray some penetrant down the side of them, plain old WD40 will do, get a cable tie and loop it under the cap right angle, you can then use it as a handle to pull harder and won’t damage the lead or worse pull the lead out of the cap.
It's awkward, but with a bit of lube on the job, try and twist the cap also before pulling on it too hard. When you refit, use a smear of silicon grease (not sealant) on the cap.
