1299 Exhaust Valve

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Count Dukeula, Nov 11, 2023.

  1. Hello all
Can anyone point me in the correct direction to making the exhaust valve stay open? I presume a much better sound without changing the exhaust?

  2. It didn’t make much difference to the sound on my 899 when I completely removed the valve

  4. It is open by default. It closes between a certain rev range c.3500-5500, so the bike can pass noise emissions testing (and to improve low down torque allegedly.

At key on the ecu cycles the servo motor that actuates the valve to ensure it is working.

You can eliminate the valve closing by fitting an exhaust valve eliminator from the likes of Healtech or Vizi-tech. This plugs into the loom instead of the servo motor and tricks the ecu into thinking the servi motor is still connected and doing what it should when instructed from the ecu. Once fitted you can then remove the servo motor, which is a heavy piece of equipment.
