exactly this, despite being a bit more limited now I am the same as you, and last time I had to use the car the battery was totally dead as it had been over a month.

 

Remembered last minute, we had no honey for the cheese. We do now and I was forced to sit down in the farm shop cafe and eat american style buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, it’s a hard life Andy

Drove to Devon, arrived at the pub, dog has her own proper bed. Cornwall tomorrow.

 

Through the winter i clean the z every week or so, exhaust off, bottom of the bike/front of the engine, wheels calipers, scrub the chain with a wire brush and parafin finished with chain wax. All good their. 400/4 hasnt been fired up for a good 4 or 5 months....that didnt blip into life - not by a long chalk....15 mins to get it going so i think ill take it out tomorrow round the block....looks like im gonna have to do that once a month just to keep the engine turned over...

 

Drank rather more than I should have. Ready for Christmas tomorrow.
