A mate of mine who used to PDI Ducatis in the early 90s, tells me that some models used to have straight clip ons instead of the 'riser' version commonly seen...............Anyone seen what he is talking about? I'm interested in trying something like them out because I can't get mine any lower and I want to stop riding 'all elbows out' to get behind the screen (I reckon it must look like Graeme Crosby).........don't want expensive ones if the idea doesn't work. AL
Al I have a set of SSie clip-ons spare, they were fitted above the yoke on ie model and aren't raised. You're welcome to try them. Have a look at some pics on ebay and see if you think they'll work for you. Cheers, Keith.
Hi Keith...............IIRC they are the silvery ones (ally?) with single side clamp bolts and sliding bar clamp?? 50mm clamp diameter? Not sure if the OEM MCs will fit them unless the IE had the same ones as the carbed model. My mate reckoned the early ones he saw had the extension so the bar was away from the clamp but it didn't rise up. I'm off to check space for MCs quickly. Thanks, AL.
