Anyone used SGS one? Is it any good? Minefield out there. Wanted to get snap on one but they are silly money and blue point ones aren’t cheap. SGS one look good on the paper but reviews are mixed. non-professional use but I have a lot of semi broken cars so should see a lot of action
Snap on due monthly specials so if you can wait, get the snappy/blue point. i think i got around 10years from my last one. i replaced it several years back for a sealy. looked identical to snappy, long reach 2tonne, v,sturdy for around £150+vat if i mind right.
My son had an SGS one, and that's been fine. They seem good value for money, and fine for amateur use. He bought the low profile one, because he used to modify his cars. (I'm surprised none of them appeared on the spotted sheds post in this forum)
Yeah, what sort of discount do they do? My Snap op guy mentioned nothing when I spoke to him yesterday
cant be sure, but specials can be massively discounted. £500 one month. £200 the next. i took a wee look at the prices of seally tools before i posted. i know myself too well to have paid the prices i was seeing. i'm sure the snappy was around £110+ when i first opened up around 14 years ago, and seally i got was around £150+. worked hard and perfectly for several years now.
different offers every month. this is where i purchased the last one. mine is slightly bigger. SIP 3 Ton Quick-Lift Dual Pump Trolley Jack 03633 - Highland Fasteners
Just asked the bloke and apparently prices he quoted me for snap and BP jacks were on special anyway. Find it hard to believe as they are not double but 3 times the price compared to other recognisable brands
robbing so and so's. the seally has been perfect. it gets used all the time for the big stuff. i'm sure SGS will be perfect too.
SGS are good jacks . I’ve a little used 3 ton here if you need one , only lifted my Landrover a few times £50 in Surrey
recently bought a low profile facom. its decent and was on offer. also have a very old arcan (costco) which is alu body so lighter than the steel body facom. i spend a bit of time under my cars so need to be safe https://www.primetools.co.uk/product/facom-dl-2lp-2-tonne-low-profile-trolley-jack/
