Hello all, Good to be on the forum. I'll keep it short: 899 2015 I was riding and all of a sudden the entire dash lights up and flashes 2/3 times. It settles, then does it again. The unsettling thing is all the lights flash too (hazards, the lot) Not great on a motorway ! Anybody any idea please? ECU? Connection? Disconnect the battery to reset ECU. Any ideas gratefully received. Cheers, Billywhizz
Dash lighting up like a Christmas tree could be an error detected, any other warning lights on after the event? When you say all the lights, do you mean the actual indicators, headlight etc or just the indicator lights for them on the dash?
Thanks Bumpkin. No other errors reported. The actual indicators aswell as all the dash lights and warnings all at once (put my left hand behind the mirror as it happened and saw) Headlights - not sure but they were on anyway, of course.
Could be the reg/rec failing. Especially if it’s high voltage. At about 15v the dash will shut down to protect itself. When it does, the indicators and lights will go as they are fed from the dash. Have a look at the voltage on the dash options
Hello all, Update on this one. Wasn't the voltage to the dash. Took to the BBS unit under the seat. Didn't need to totally dismatle it. Just a hairdryer for a timed 5 minutes on a medium / light heat setting from 2 inches away around the connection point. This is a bit of design flaw on these Panigales. Moisture can get into the BBS so careful when washing. I'll be protecting this now with some tape or something. Hopefully now solved as hasn't happened again, even on quite a rapid rideout. Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated. Speak soon.
