So the jubille clips I used inside the tank are not up to the job so am going into town with the bits left of the new fuel hose to get some correct ones to replace the lot as the ones I have are allowing fule to squirt out instead of going through the hose to the injectors. Got her running again but decided not teh risk a ride as I simply do not know if the hoses will stay connected insode the tank. Then notoced that the rear tyre looked a little down turn out that have picked up a nail in it. It's only a small nail about .75mm dia but dammit the Dunlop is only about three weeks old and has only done about 300 miles so the wheel is off and it's in the back of the car now so can call into Point S who fitted it and get them so repair if possible. Have to pass them on the way into town so suppose that is a bit of a blessing not having to make a special trip. Finally more of my PPE bike gear showed up, nice Diadora boots but despite supposedly neign the same size and my shoes and work boots they are way too tight to wear for more than a few minutes, the leather bike trousers are so tight in the legs and hips that theya re a real struggle to get into then there is not way the waist will do up 38" waist but theywon't meet in the middle yet the new 30" waist bike jeans that arrived in same delivery fit just fine and in fact will require a belt to keep them up! The Cordura trousers with Hi-Vis panels are all season wear supposedly but frankly even after removing the warmth lining they are not going to be suitable for our warm weather and the leg length are for somone who it well over 6 foot tall and I am not being 4" shy of 6 foot. The new leather trousers will have to go back have already emailed the seller and will see if we can sell on the used boots as yet undecided on the Cordura trousers. As it says my luck is just shitty right now. Plezier
Be aware that when you look into the tank when the engine is running you will, depending how full your tank is, see fuel ‘squirting’ out. It’s not a hose leaking, it’s the return from the fuel lines. The pump pressurises the fuel lines, which flow from the tank, via the injectors, back to the tank, to about 3 bar; the injectors open to release fuel into the throttle bodies. It’s not always a leaking pipe when you see fuel splashing back into the tank. But then again, I can’t see it and you may indeed have a problem.
Yes the return agitates the petrol down near the pump and with a light you can see it no problem. My problem was that the delivery hose was completly off the inline filter the first time and the second time the hose on the feed side of the inline filter was half off the spigot allowing petrol to spay out and not through the filter as it should the clips re certainly the issue here but that will be sorted tomorrow.
