Motorsports - Spin Those Wheels - Free Formula 1 & MotoGP Streaming Online - Formula 1 BBC Streaming try this
I am not a happy man. Just been on the phone to Virgin; I've got a basic virgin package (just so I could get the broadband) and to get BT Sport on that would cost me in the region of £60 a month (although you can just get BT Sport and ESPN on a rolling contract for £15 a month, and stop/start it at any time). BT packages are around £45 minimum inc phone and broadband. Dunno about Sky. I'm like you Funky, I never turn the telly on except to watch motogp, and throwing that kind of money away for an ornament in the corner of the living room is impossible for me. I was told by some geezer down the pub that they'd be bringing out an online player and ipad app - and indeed they are - but only for BT customers There's no plans yet to bring it out for general consumption a la Eurosport player. Live streaming it is then:frown:
Appreciate that fellas. Just thinking of next years holiday plans as this will be the whole event and hoping to get a big group of us  Got to get holiday requests in before the others
Sod Silverstone, get yerself out to Mugello, or Sachsenring, or even Assen, turn it into a proper event
Got to look at the cost of it all, as some can afford and some can't. Like the way you think though
I'm in the process of switching from Sky to BT for a number of reasons, with cost being one of them. My monthly sky bill for phone broadband and TV is between £75-83. BT have said they will offer the same service/TV channels (but with ninja speed fibre optic broadband) for £46.10 a month. I'll tell you after Tuesday if it's any good or whether BT will be getting a rocket!
Don't go to Le Mans, always pisses down there. I'd recommend Sachsenring; we stayed in a 4 star star hotel for £40 a night (had breakfast with Randy Mamola, who was also staying there!) in Chemnitz, plenty do see and do - Dresden, Colditz, etc. It's a long ride, but worth it.
I wanted to go Pete, it's only about 40 miles away, but we ended up hopping on a train to Dresden. As it turned out there was a massive party in Dresden celebrating 700 years of the city, fantastic day out. Glad we took the train, too, cos I drank my own bodyweight in schwartzbier...
Went to Brno last year and thoroughly recommend it. Stopped at Nuremberg then Prague on the way out. Should have spent more time in Prague really; I went in the '80's and thought it would have turned into tourist hell by now, but it was still a fantastic place and still dirt cheap - 70p a pint! Brno itself is a lovely place, but it's a student town so relatively quiet when the gp is on. But it's half the price of Prague - 40p a pint! I booked the tickets through MCi tours and we had our pants pulled down over the accommodation; basically we were staying in student halls of residence but paying hotel prices, pretty crap really. Do it yourself, get on google maps to look for a hotel and book in direct, and get a cab to the circuit (we missed the coach back from the gp and got a cab for about £20, if you sort a cab for the journey there and back the cabbie will sit there all day!). You can obviously ride to the circuit, but then you can't have a beer. I loved it, great circuit, friendly locals, plenty of open countryside to tear around in. We saw lots of cars/bikes getting pulled for speeding going into the country, and you need a vignette for the Czech Republic as it turns out (didn't find that out til we got home...). Definitely worth the motorway miles. Although I enjoyed Sachsenring even more.
Cheers Fig, this time next week I'll be heading for the Portsmouth ferry on the way to Misano so thinking about next year's trip already!
i have the M+ tv package (next up from base package). Phoned virgin last week and they were offering upgrade to XL tv package (which includes btsport) for £10/ month for 6 months, then £20/month after that. Option to stop or switch to btsport bolt on for £15/month. might be worth waiting until start of the gp season and seeing what they are offering at that time (football and rugby seasons will be almost over, which are the bigger audiences) so may have good offers then. me, I am waiting until sometime in 2014 before committing to anything.
