Hi all I'm looking for a right hand fork or a set of forks for a 600ss, the chrome has chipped on one and keeps ruining for seals. if anyone has a set of 900ss forks or anything that will fit I would also be interested in those. cheers.
Depnding on how bad the pitting is, you can use some fine wet & dry and smooth the pitting down, then use solvol autosol to re-polish........it's only where the chrome is plucked up at the edges that cuts the seals........depressions in the chrome can cause a weep, but you may be able to get over it by using a slightly oversized seal.........Somewhere I have the reference number for the seal that fits the Marzocchis but it might take me a while to find it. Bear with me and I will whip a dust cover off my spare ones today and get the number.......... AL
I have these that would be up for grabs less the yokes and disc, the tops are corroded but the internals and bottom ends are good. PM me if you are interested. They are from a 1992 750SS. Yorkie
Surprising to see a pair of Showas from a 750 SS........probably worth a look............he can't change the shrouds over though, so they would need a good tidy up. AL
Well, I can see adjusters at the bottom and I am pretty sure they are at the top too........so logically they are Showas.......I also think the colour of the bottom section looks like the later bronze-brown rather than silver which is what I think was on the earlier Showas.......well they are on mine, anyway. As a matter of interest check the brake caliper mounting hole spacing........should be 40mm.......if more, then they aren't from an early SS. AL
