  2. Youd get bent over for getting a v5 for one of those wouldnt you?

  3. Yes, especially the 20K bike.

  4. Final part to the puzzle. Just insured it this morning. So ill be out on it on the weekend. When i get home ill put some tax on it. (i need the v5 for that and ive not got it in the office.) Oil change first though. Its only done 80 miles since its rebuild so seeing as oil is critical on these things its getting fresh stuff on sunday morning then out for a blast...

  6. Well, just went into town and back out on it.....Jesus fuck, its absolutely mental. Lifts in ever gear that i fucking tried....the noise is sweet. Blipping the throttle produces the brappiest brap ive ever heard.....if i open it up in say 3rd the back sinks down and it almost starts to snake up the road under power....never had that before.....anyway....i thought what better than to ride it to work tomorrow....starting it in the underground basement/car park will be fun.

  7. Sounds good to me.
Should be good weather for you to put it through its paces.
You'll be buzzing when you get to work.
    Happy days.

  8. Lol - in the office now. If you know Bristol i went past the entrance exit of Temple Meads - one of the lads in the office was walking, to the office, saw me and burst out laughing....it makes so much noise!

  9. Don't know Bristol but I can imagine the racket it makes.
Sounds like all your work as been worth it.

  10. Yep. It sure is mental... Like a whippet version of my hyper...!

  11. Actually id just like to add that one the way home last night some bloke let off in a Tesla so i opened it up while i was looking in his window....genuinely for the first time ever in my biking life i returned back to looking straight ahead and realized the front wheel was up...

  13. How's the Aprilia going on?
    Any update.

  14. Well, it's fucking mental. Probably the angriest bike I've ridden behind my Hyper. I've got a few teething issues. No Speedo at the moment and no neutral light (but working on both of those)

Ironically today I just bought a beefed up starter motor which works a treat. Apart from that....all good.

  15. Well, SXV ownership has been quite the rollercoaster...and im not joking. From the highs of the mentalness of it, the sound, the way the whole thing just...well, operates - everything is extreme. Then this happened....

  16. Apparently a one off....no ones ever seen it before on an SXV. At the time....cruising through town, 3k rpm on and off the throttle lightly (ironically i was on my way up to Riders in Bristol) to collect some parts for the Hyper....could initially hear a slight noise, which got progressivly louder (probably the crank starting to split) then, vibration through the right peg (at that point completely disconnected) got to Riders, picked up parts, started it and nursed it the final mile home very gingerly....i partially stripped the motor. And then after a week of trying to find the issue the lad i bought it from insisted i sent the motor back up to him so he could tear it down - a voila.
Luckily he had a spare crank (so i owe him a crank!) so the worst possible failure but, the best in a a weird way. The only thing the crank took out was itself and the shells - that was it. I think at the point the crank separated it was the confines of the engine casings that held it all together... Engine is re-assembled and should be back with me early next week.

  17. Im on the lookout now for my own spare crank....along with a set of 550 liners...

  18. The fact that there isn't total and catastrophic damage is seriously lucky imo. :upyeah:
