  5. Been back a week or so from our South African trip. It was great except when my mate came off his e-bike, with cleats on. They didn’t release and he went down like a sack of spuds. Result, hip replacement. That was the end of his cycling and fishing. He was back with us in 3 days though, walking, gingerly, and able to go up stairs slowly, amazing.

I e-biked every day, 30-60k. I wanted to get the value out of the bike because it was more expensive to hire than the bloody car!

Since we’ve been back from South Africa all I’ve done is fit oak doors in the cottage. Huge improvement from the shite 1960’s plain flat boring hollow shite doors. Heavy work lifting new 28 kg doors myself.

Bought a Makita plunge saw and rail to do the job, what a fantastic piece of kit, wanted one for ages.
Last door goes on tomorrow which makes the Mrs very happy. Which is perfect because I’m off on my next trip on Wednesday.

A boys trip coast to coast USof A, yes we’re crossing the land of Donald! Pick up in Orlando drop off in LA.
I’ve wanted to do this for years. :yum:upyeah::motorcycleduc::fist::sun:

    Roll on!

IMG_0497.jpeg Fish wives. Fresh mullet, tasted fantastic.

IMG_0485.jpeg IMG_0484.jpeg St Francis Bay, just love it there. Every time I go I want to buy a house there. Too inconvenient to get there to make it worthwhile.

IMG_0480.jpeg Ah, the truth South African style.

  6. Yes, it had the 3 piece luggage fitted to it, which is what I was looking for, planning on using a bike like that whilst on holiday, put it in the back of the van, arrive on site, use the bike for touring the area, and shopping, hence anting the bike to come with the luggage set

  7. Yes, but, i don't drink :joy:

  8. Seems strange fitting a top box to an RS, I’m not sure Ducati would recommend that with the titanium subframe??

  9. You shouldn’t be able to, the Ducati (Givi) top box adapter plate has no where to mount :D Andy

  11. Looks fabulous. I especially like the inclusion of trellis frame and the shark fin venting
The vertical paint job finishes it off perfectly
    Many happy smiles and miles.

  12. Changed the oil on the 899 and fitted a Ktech shock, looking forward to the weather actually sorting itself out!

  13. Spent most of the day packing up the house......probably about 2/3rds of the inside done.

The other thing I did today was take the Diavel to my friends house to store till after I move. Oh and I uninstalled the ground anchor......which was a bastard to do. Which is a good thing I think

    I'm knackered now

  14. I’m going to really miss the Pikes Peak, I made a lot of memories on that bike, some that can never be repeated. That was the bike I was in Germany on when my Dad passed away in 2022, and had to get home quickly. I took his ashes on the back for a 300 mile day, to take him to all his old houses and favourite sporting places. So it’s a real mixed bag of emotions, but it’s time to move on now. I’m hoping to create many happy memories on this bike.

  16. It wasn't an RS, it was a regular Angry Birds Multi, had the 3 piece luggage fitted on it

  20. Sunday is my day of chores...

But yesterday fitted an extractor fan in the bathroom so it was 5 hours of on the roof, in the crawlspace of the loft and in the bathroom...pulling all the jack of all trades skills in...bit of wiring, bit of roofing, bit of woodwork...completely fucked at the end of the day in bed by 8.30...which is what happens when you get old...

    Sunday
Fixed the puncture on the hyper....to admit my shortcomings....thought id "do it as properly as i could..."
    1. Took the tyre off
    2. Took out the old plug
    3. Thought id experiment so put another plug in, cut it down on the inside, then put a regular cycle patch on top of the plug.
    4. Put it all back together - put some air in the tyre and about 30 mins later i heard it push the plug out...to my surprise - in the set of replacement plugs they are different thicknesses....so put the thickest plug in and that seems to have cured it...so in indirect win...
    5. Cleaned the zed.
    6. Took a radiator off the wall in the bathroom ready for painting...
    7. Stripped the lodgers iphone down and put a new battery in it...

And to anyone that doesnt have an extractor fan when we did our bathroom years ago i thought "we wont need that" well you do as if you dont your bathroom rots from the inside out!

All done...catching up on all things net at the moment...
