Another Another Another Bore

  1. that the new Monster looks shit. It is like Ducati are embarrassed by a V-Twin engine and feel the need to hide it with plastic. As this is just a pure indulgence purchase. I want something that pleases me to look at. The jury is out on the Panigale as I have not yet viewed on in the flesh.

  2. Me going round and round in circles! I'll keep my KTM for a few years, but then I am thinking of this! It is light and quick enough for me. And I think that it looks nice. I'll check one out in the flesh next time I'm in Fowlers.

Looking like my next trip will be Plymouth or Penzance, now. Possibly last week of April. Still easy by train and there are better hotel options.
    Kawasaki ZX-4RR Performance.

  3. I say, "light and quick enough for me" and then I look at a MCN review. 150 mph! Err. I think that should be OK for me on top speed!

  4. Nice bike! But won't you get the same problems with it, that you had with the RC390 re riding position etc?

Surely you aren't going all the way to Penzance without stopping off in Devon too?

  5. No. The only place is Exeter and I'd rather just go on to Plymouth. Although I may change my mind tomorrow!!!!

  6. Mind changes by the hour! Still, I will stick with the KTM for a few more years, but now this Kawasaki is favourite! The Ninja 500 Performance.

  7. Why will it be different re your riding position issues than the RC390 you sold?

  8. Because, Because, Because, err, err, err.

I dunno and would have to try one out. Fowlers are good at giving test rides. They either have their own demonstrators, or they can borrow a factory demonstrator from Kawasaki, but I would want a good test ride. Also, it is me being odd. The first bike I ever had was a KTM two stroke moped and I have scratched that itch. I also have a Kawasaki history that is another itch! Fing is, the very last time I rode the rc390 back to Fowlers in order to part exchange it for the Duke, I found it absolutely fine. I don't know if that was because I was getting better, or it was just a mental thing as it was going back, so I didn't give a shit. Now, I wish that I had persevered and been a touch more patient, as it was a good bike.

I remember my mate saying that I was crazy to buy it. That was when the DVLA had got all "funny" about my injuries and despite tons of evidence to the contrary, they always believed me to be at fault for the accident. They couldn't prosecute me, so found other ways to make my life a misery. So when I bought it, my driving licence had been revoked, until I could do a driving assessment. Although a motorcycle accident had got me to where I was, in the DVLA eyes, it had now become all about driving a car. Fowlers delivered the bike to my house and I could not ride it on the road, until I passed the driving assessment and the tricks that they tried to trip me up with. So if I had not passed the assessment (as everybody seemed to think would happen) I wouldn't of been able to ever ride the rc390, and so I would of wasted my money buying it. Even Castle Combe track days would be difficult as I would have to get the bike there somehow, and I seem to remember from years ago, that they checked your driving licence when you signed on, for some bizarre reason!.

I just wish that I had been a bit more patient and had stuck with the rc390. But I wasn't patient and I like the Duke, so not the end of the World.

  9. Don't worry. I am not going to post any more pictures of Kawasakis! There are now other models that I am drawn to as I look into it more. And that air-cooled Ducati Scrambler job still has its attractions. I had a "thing" going about having to have twin front disks but as it is not certain that I have to have a bike that needs twin disks, that is crazy talk.

The plan is to still ask for about £15k when my case is finally, finally sorted and this money goes into a trust fund that I don't control. It will be useful to know exactly where I stand with access to the hundreds of thousands in the fund that is supposed to be MY money.

Fowlers now have the Kawasaki range in a dedicated building on the site and we do not normally go in there. After the cafe, we will go and have a closer look.
