  3. And you think the Zimbabwean lady is less corrupt, do you?

  4. She must be the only white Zimbabwean left, so unlikely.

  5. Anyone associated with Mnangagwa (mə-nəng-GAH-gwə) known to his friends as the "crocodile" has to be very suspect.

A possible upside is that being a woman, Coventry might put a stop to anyone but naturally born women competing in womens events. I have no problem with a third open class being added, where any person can compete, without any restriction whatsoever.

  6. Not according to Sharon Davies this morning who ripped Coventry to shreds for her ‘perceived’ tacit support for transgender boxers. Current press speculation sees Coventry as the lesser of two evils. Andy

  7. Coventry has pledged to introduce a blanket ban on transgender women competing in female Olympic competition, insisting that she will protect women athletes and that fairness and safety are paramount.

Though she was also a member of the IOC's executive board when it allowed two boxers who had allegely failed gender eligibility tests to compete in the women's boxing competition at the Paris 2024 Olympics. But did they? - the IOC says not!

In 2008, she was given $100,000 cash reward by Zimbabwe's President Mugabe for winning four medals at the Beijing Games. I think this has tainted her, and causes her notoriety -at least in part.

Time will tell. Lets face it, she couldn't be more corrupt than FIFA or the FIA.

  8. I've met Sir Coe at the side of the Rugby pitch on a couple of occasions, exchanged what I suppose you'd call 'pleasantries', and had a brief conversation at post match dinner.
His son was the same school year group as my eldest and the two schools play each other at Rugby twice a year.
His son like mine was 1st15 for the school so we'd both be supporting from touch.

All I'll say is that he was exactly the sort of touchline parent you'd expect him to be:thinkingface:

  13. I was briefly in the same space as him in a previous career. My impression was that he was lower than a snakes belly. Proper smiley while the camera was running then a see you next Tuesday once they had gone. Luckily I didn’t have to engage with him directly.

  14. Hard to say. We will have to wait & see.
