Been chatting to a dude on the blue sky app who is the chef for Alpecin Dequernik (he cooks for MVDP et al and does all the feed stops etc..) To say I’m extremely jealous of his chosen profession is a very, very big understatement. The places he visits and things he sees on a daily basis, just incredible.
We have a new star in the making too https://www.cyclingnews.com/races/volta-ciclista-a-catalunya-2025/stage-5/results/ Matthew Brennan. Been incredible this week. 19 years old and his team don’t even know what his specialty is yet lol
Great documentary by TNT on Mads Pedersen if you have it. The part with the team doctor is brutal. Chapeau etc..

There is also a rather nice documentary on it from 1976, the cobbles are obscenely uncomfortable. When we rode it we stuck the widest tyres we could, the saner riders used cyclocross bikes and due to the better clearances wider tyres. Experience tells me the woman or women weren't wearing gloves, double taping your bars and gloves are essential. They would have got those blisters early in the race and it would have been agony riding the full distance. A bucket list sportive for the brave, lad and I may go over in the summer on our supermoto's hoping that it stays dry and wet we'll get filthy. Worth a visit when the race is on. or
Mads P Pidcock nicely placed after s1. Shit day for Ineos. (If anyone wants me to start a fresh thread with spoilers let me know x)
Red has started a new pushcyle racing thread here https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/pro-cycling-giro-tdf-vuelta-etc…-spoilers.102829/
