RAF Shackleton if I recall correctly, a forced landing.

 

I don't know a huge amount (hardly anything) about 'planes insignia/ markings. Any idea why doesn't it have the usual UK circles instead of the green star like emblem on the fuselage and the tricolor on the tail?

 

My old man used to fly them out of RAF Lossiemouth, and Kinloss.

It’s SAAF Shackleton not as I recalled a RAF Shackleton.

Every photograph of a Shackleton has the Tricolor painted on it, the RAF roundel colours are taken from the Tricolour is my understanding,
