749 Fuel Tap O Rings? Where Can I Get Some?

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Skye Hook, May 8, 2025.

  1. looks like Ducati spares for the 749 are now done, which makes life a little more challenging.
Put in new Battery cables and that was a tw2t of a job,now chasing the fuel leak from the right hand tap,o rings look like a bad day in the prison showers so time to replace.Bottom one in the pic is the culprit, both nasty looking though.
Alas....where and what? does anyone know the spec of these to try and source a non OEM set or two? IMG_0311.jpeg

  2. bought from
EBay and fitted these recently to my 1000 DS. you can check for compatibility, I think they are okay. I even measured and calculated the sizes but have forgotten now.

  3. I’ve got some non-Ducati O rings in an envelope on my desk. Never used them. You’re welcome to try them?

  4. They will almost certainly be standard o-rings.
Measure the size (inside diameter and ring thickness). Order from a supplier such as simply bearings.
You will want to check which are ethanol compatible (I can't remember now) and order those.

  5. The ones I mentioned above are compatible with E 10 fuel, so superior to the originals even. they are a "standard", if unusual dimension, but when postage was added, there wasn't much in it between all the places I tried including the bearing suppliers.

  6. Thanks Chris.Mine are around 14mm wide, maybe 10.5 I.D and 1.6ish thickness, the rings for the push fit fittings seem to be for the female side on the 749 ads.

  7. yes i would be very happy with that kind sir. if they are around 14mm O.D 10.5-11 I.D and round 1.6 thickness they will do the job,can message address and happy to paypal.

  8. Ah. The ones I have are smaller than 14mm. More like 8 so probably no good for your needs?
