Toying with the idea of getting my bike re-mapped having watched those BHP YouTube videos, it’s not so much for more speed but the general improvements. My bike does have a 1 year approved Ducati warranty against it, the salesman did say a remap could invalidate the warranty but if I had one of those remap flash things then it could always be reverted back. Cost is almost £500, is it worth it???
If i do a remap, it can take several hours to get a good settings for throttle response. A flash map works but will never be as good as a bespoke one for your bike. You can get a better throttle action just by removing the throttle cut off setting . The ducati map on my streetfighter still has this cut off and it annoys the hell out of me, but unfortunately I can't do anything. Yet.
Ah that’s interesting, so it’s better to take a bike and get it setup in person rather than buying a remap flasher? Thanks, I’m pretty clueless with regards this so any pointers are taken onboard.
I would say. Get your tuner to give you before and after graphs at say 10% and 20% throttle to see how much gains you get. Full bore runs are good for the pub but even NW200 guys aren't full throttle everywhere
As above, custom maps are excellent. Every engine that rolls out a factory has a generic one size fits all map slapped on it. Which will work fine, but there’s always more on the table. A custom map will often plump up the mid range and improve fuelling low down. I remember Moto Rapido doing my 1098R and it was like getting a new bike…
Agreed, 30mph to 80mph is where I want the goodies to be. I'm flat out 1% of the time, which means I want the increases where I spend 99%.
I don’t have a1260 but do have my V4s with a BHP tune and I find it great , great low and mid power . I did have the full system on but for reasons took it off . I feel it’s as good as, if not better as the bike pulls so well and not as noisy, always a winner when on it as your less obvious . Good investment in my opinion.
If you do an internet search , find BHP and they have a link to explain all . It’s a simple job . Flasher , computer download for the map installer , pull your existing map , send it to them via the down load from the flasher , they tweak it , send a modified file, upload to the flasher , then to the bike . https://www.google.com/gasearch?q=bhp uk flasher instal&source=sh/x/gs/m2/5#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:a07a0339,vid:nxxkAM5XvSM,st:0 There are loads more but this is one I found as just going out , Google is you friend .
Will do. I’d have started the process tonight but lazy article that is Boy No.2, back from Uni, slept through the doorbell. Hopefully, Postperson will have more luck tomorrow. That or arse kickings commence!
Given that I also have one of those at home, I would guess that said Boy No.2 heard the doorbell, but couldn’t be arsed to get up and answer the door, if he is anything like mine
