Yep... design driven by function. The eek bike is a Krauser 4 cylinder 500 cc (I'm assuming) two stroke that was mainly used in sidecars. Not sure of the frame mind.

I had one and on the speedo it did 106, so perhaps. It was quicker than anything else of its ilk, except perhaps the legendary Suzuki "Hustler Super Six" which was supposed to also do 100, but I've never ridden one. The pictured bike is a later edition with a revised seat, pipes and black headlamp that mine didn't have.
I had the z250a which was supposedly the fastest four stroke. 98mph I think? I chopped it for an rd400e. A bit of a leg up.
