Never had a fail or an advisory in 30 odd years of moting bikes. Cars and vans is a slightly different story though.
Put the Africa Twin back together after spill on some ice back in February. I am really not very impressed by the corrosion on the frame paint, engine paint and what could be chrome surfaces. Unlike the Ducatis I have owned that came back to “as new”, I am not sure this Honda would respond at all well to restoration. It is only eight years old.
Meant in the sense that you are less likely to "out ride" yourself. You can still get into plenty of trouble with the local constabulary.
Nope. Standard pipe is still on the bike. I’m not signing a disclaimer to say I won’t ride it on the road. I’m trying to work out a way around it, but the dealer said Ducati will only release the map once they have a copy of the signed document. The bike is bat shit crazy out of the box, but the fuelling could do with a tweak. I’m waiting to see how you get on with the BHP setup, then may go down that route instead. I’ll have to not look at the hideous cat every time I look at the bike in future though!
On the Monster, certainly, it'll be a sail... You need to buy two, this one for the Multi and the 5" or the W603 for the Monster. Though if your eyesight, in terms of reading, is getting suspect like mine then the W702 will be advantageous. Mount it up quick and get used to using it with MRA Nav Next, I think that's what you said you'll be using. Getting used to working with it prior to the EMM would be ideal.
Just back from Moto-vation Racing in Cheltenham where Tim gave the Multi its annual service, other than new front pads (1 & 2mm on old ones) no surprises
Booked in with Tim in July for the Desmo on my Pikes Peak. Very happy with previous work done by him, highly recommended, though you'll need to book in advance. Blessed to have MotoVation as my local indi.
I can boast of a similar record. Spoilt only by a long suspension travel enduro ktm, that passed with an advisory that ‘chain was loose’. This model was notorious for having a yard of slack! It was actually set to slightly tighter than manufactures spec. As he was my regular tester I didn’t say a word. A pass is a pass. It annoyed the hell out of me though!
My 750SS spoiled my 100% MoT record. After a year of recommissioning and replacing almost everything consumable it was ready for its first MoT for 20 years. I had replaced the fork oil bit decided to leave the seals as they looked good and after a rigorous pumping (no laughing at the back) they seemed fine. The MoT place is less than two miles from home but by the time I got there, one of the seals was pissing oil. I decided to MoT anyway on the grounds a retest is a simple job and I know the guy is stacked out so didn’t want to waste his time. Lesson learnt, don’t skimp on the basics.
Dropped the 748 off for belts etc at Moto V and was good to see two gold frame’s together My 99, T reg 916, R reg, 1997? with 6k miles
Cleaned the Versys, and loaded it in to the van, ready for the ride-in to the International Bomber Command Centre 80th anniversary day celebrations, taking the bike to my parents, meeting my son and brother there, then riding to the meeting point between Sleaford and Grantham Details of the event if anyone is interested..... https://internationalbcc.co.uk/about-ibcc/news/events/inspire-25-op-manna-80/
