Easiest and most rewarding upgrade you can make on a bike, did this and my Thruxton and totally removes the throttle play. 10 min job tops…
Saw these yesterday from well respected engine tuners, P3. https://p3tuning-performanceparts.com/search?q=ducati+throttle+spacers&options[prefix]=last
I had the same thought and yes there is a small movement on the V4 throttle. I had spacers on my 1260 and they worked well and made a difference. I have not felt the need for spacers on the V4 and maybe its because the V4 is a smoother engine and pulls smoothly from low revs but the question has got me thinking now!
I’ve fitted them to both of mine, and they make a big difference. I don’t understand why the slop is still here.
I ordered a kit via Ebay just a couple of days ago and am hoping it arrives today so I can fit it tomorrow.
I'm in the cheap seats for this, I just cut up an old debit card cut to size and bonded it to the throttle. Was on a KTM 790
My kit arrived at lunchtime. The initial thought was of course why have I paid so much money for a Torx security bit I already have and two small bits of plastic, but I already knew that really. So having watched one of the many fitting videos the other day I popped out to my garage and dug out a bit driver handle. 90 seconds later, it can't have been any more than that, it was fitted and the housing back together. All the loose play in the twist grip is gone. Obviously I had to take it out for a quick test ride, and yes, what a difference. .
The V4 still benefits from spacers.. had them on my V4S, 23 PP and now 25 PP... Still smooths things out. Tried the red ones that seem to crumble as well as these which seem to be less fiddly to fit... Irrespective of the throttle mapping they still remove the slack and slop. https://racetorx.co.uk/product/rtx210/
Anyone want to buy a set unopened for the V4? Turns out my memory doesn’t extend to three years when I bought the bike and fitted them! £10 posted.
