it is incredible, that the "law abiding citizen" would rather do 29 in a 30 and 19 in a 20 just to make sure they aren't breaking the law.
I genuinely, honestly, etc, really don't mind Lady Nasher knowing where I am via Live360 all the time, and actually It's really useful knowing where she is at times. Stupid silly stuff like seeing if she's on her way home from work so I know to wait for her to come out with me for a walk with the dog. We've been married 32yrs in a couple of months, trust each other, and really don't have anything to hide from each other. Actually, with age related health issues taking hold, and my tendancy to get completely distracted and lose track of time when I'm out and about on my bikes, boat, and simply exploring the countryside, you could almost say it's a really good safety related thing to have.
We are considering buying Apple Watches that also monitor your health and will alert if anything is amiss. My partner used it when the kids were new to driving but it did their heads in and now they’re removed it from their phones. I never did install it, I do invariably send an alert from my Apple Maps satnav giving my eta which will update that should I stop or be delayed.
built-up areas/schools etc i agree, but some 20 mph limits are now applied in utterly stupid locations at times - not surprised with the restriction U-Turn in parts of Wales.
I don’t know of any 20mph limits being put back to 30 yet. Certainly all the areas I ride in are still at 20mph.
Haven't happened upon 20 limits other than in built up civilised areas and Wales, I used to get worked up by 'slower' drivers but as i've gotten older on the whole don't find it too frustrating. I do however find mobile phone users the Devils own work..........
Only seen one announcement of a reversal, wasn't it left to each individual authority to decide which they wanted.
I might get this on the wife’s phone, so I can see where she is, minimising the risk of her catching me walking round the house in her underwear.
just lifted this dated 7th March 2025:- The maximum speed limit on four busy roads in Cardiff will be changed back to 30mph from 20mph. A review of the Welsh government's 20mph speed limit was announced last year following a public backlash. The 20mph speed limit, covering 37% of the Welsh road network, was brought in by the Welsh government in September 2023. Cardiff council said the proposed changes should help ease congestion on main roads in and out of the city. The local authority listened to views of residents, businesses and transport companies before making its decision. More stretches of road are expected to revert to 30mph, especially those away from built-up areas. Last month, it was announced that 50 stretches of road in Wrexham would revert to 30mph.
i have a couple of faraday cases one for my car fobs and the other for phone and cards i don't want to be tracked on a day out
