I think by the time just the front end design was finished it was so cumbersome & heavy that it could only be fitted to similarly lardy bike. I 'm not sure of the timelines but there were other cheaper less clumsy designs out there... the Hossak comes to mind but I'm not sure that BMW hadn't robbed that particular idea by then.
Reply from me Dad "Multiple small wheels i.e. Low gear. Traction, slow speed, heavy long loads, vast distances. FYI - Russia uses 5ft gauge, everyone else uses 4ft 8.5 inches. WW2 Germans had to relay all track!"
A driver who dropped litter from a car in Kendricks Road in Wednesbury has been told to pay £488 in fines, costs and a victims surcharge
Probably a lot of straight railway as well, or long curves. Probably why South Africa liked articulating engines
Meanwhile we have an entire cadre of politicians, NGOs and corporations rending their garments because we might not get to Net Zero (and hobble our own economy in the process)
Again from the old man - "Africa, unlike Russia need to carry extra water, notice the tankers. Also very hilly and twisty. So narrow gauge (3ft 6 in) and articulated."
