A different view of Mum on the Lav. Before I took the flashers off. They look so much better without flashers.
I think that might even be before I'd ridden it. When it had just been delivered. First time I took it out - I'd never had twin discs up front before, let alone Brembos - I rolled down the hill to the road, grabbed the brake lever and it stopped so completely that I fell off. A very early lesson in picking a Jota up. On the first ride, about ten, fifteen exhilarating miles away the clutch barely operated and I turned round and went home. Took the chaincase off to find the clutch disintegrating. I took the motor out, found also the cam pillars cracking - something that should have been fixed with a sturdier pattern under recall a decade before - and spent £1000 rebuilding it (and took the flashers off). And got a grand off what I bought it for. It was fabulous after the rebuild. Especially having to try not to go below 70 after dark - until a wire frayed on the back of the tank and stranded me between towns on the A30 (managed to bump it with the lights off then follow various cars home).
There's no outlet to the sea. So all those boats in the first picture are houseboats, permanently moored, whereas before Beeching the sailing ships had bogies on the keels and used to come and go by rail.
