No chance. Too much traffic. I’m an idiot cos I usually keep my eyes firmly peeled for undercover plod, just thanking my lucky stars I had mirrors fitted .
Adjusted the Gilles foot rests after the ride last night, fitted a “girlie” Sport Screen and fitted new bolts and washers to the horizontal cylinder head “cap” as one of them was weeping oil when the bike is on the side stand. Nothing sinister, my mistake for undoing one of the bolts thinking it was where the sump guard fitted (and wasn’t). New tyres ordered, Metzeler Roadtec Z8’s front not in stock anywhere in the Protyre group, Pirelli Angel GT’s came in more expensive than the Dunlop Roadsmart IVs, so Dunlops it is. After the run last night, just over 200 miles to go before the running in service. Should be getting heated grips and a quick shifter fitted at the same time. Termignoni will have to wait until the workshop has a quieter day and I’ve had a couple more pension payments paid in to the bank Andy
Ordered a number plate light lens for Mrs Visors Hyperstrada 24713332a from Ducati Worcester, should be there on Thursday It's been missing since we bought it but have given up on Fowlers actually replying to her emails or supplying the part as promised, been waiting since March
New Dunlop TT on the rear of the Monster. The last one was far from dead but it wouldn’t make the round trip to the Pyrenees so rather than screw up half a day on tour I did it early. However I was tight enough to keep the old one with a view to putting it back on when the new one expires. Probably never happen. Took it out in order to scrub it in and after initial care we really scrubbed it in. The way these Dunlop TT’s roll from side to side through these Spanish flip flops is sublime. Android, I’d be interested in what you think of the Roadsmart IV’s and any other users views. I think the mileage on the TT’s might be limited but they are great.
@Sam1199, tyres are ordered and on their way from Walsall, delivery is expected on Friday so planning to get them fitted next week. Despite my dislike for the Pirelli MT60 RS’s, they had enough grip to keep an RSV Mille at bay on the twisties the other evening Andy
The one downside of touring every year and not doing big miles inbetween. I'm always removing tyres with mileage remaining with good intent of refitting... that never happens, even with my own tyre changing kit. I have a few sets in my garage with maybe 1000 miles remaining on each. Enjoy your EMM.
Yes. Also ordered some DUCATI transfers to go on it, from Robert Derrick Ltd (T/A Classic Transfers). They offer a remarkable range of styles colours and sizes. Take a look ...
I'd be interested in your experience with the helmet. I've had one for about 18 months and I've finally given up on it. On mine, the chin ventilation is non existent, the edges of the visor outside the pin lock are always misted up and even in light rain, the jaw piece fills with water and you get showered when you open it up. It's going back to Shoei if I can find the comms blanks which are currently eluding me. Andy
The previous Neotec 2 was satisfactory, over many years. You can no longer get the 2, so I went for the current Neotec 3. The chin skirt is rather odd. Let's see how I get on with it.
I've got them on my Multistrada 1200S and Gen 2 Tuono 1000R Factory and love them. They give loads of confidence in wet and dry all the way to the edge and keep their shape well even after a few thousand miles.
