Yentobs Bowie interviews were essential viewing, especially the first in the 70's when I was a very young teen.

 

I was in The Wolesley last year and Yentob was having lunch with Melvyn Bragg. I’m going out on a limb here, but I reckon their conversation was more high brow than ours.

RIP Julian Grimwade, who died whilst driving his recently acquired Oakland Romano Special in a VSCC race. The incident occurred on the first lap of the race at Donington on Saturday 24th May. Julian acquired the car, which is a replica of the first-ever Pikes Peak winner based on an Oakland chassis with an 8 litre Curtiss aero engine, in 2024.

Outlived Frank by a quarter of a century.

 

Somewhere there's a MASH unit who just gained a very valuable member. RIP.

 

Hotlips, she definitely made a big impression. RIP -but she will live on in our dreams!

 

R.I.P Roger Nichols who wrote some wonderful songs for the Carpenters, Paul Anka, The Monkees and 3 Dog Night to name but a few

 

He always impressed me as a referee; one of the few who seemed to have no side to him. He went on to be a magistrate and the Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University. Gone too soon, RIP.

 

I thought he was a shit ref myself.
R.I.P tho.

 

Read quite a few of his yarns, Forsyth was my companion for a longtime. RIP & thank you.
