I'm just puzzled as to what people can suggest has been improved by privatisation of publicly owned companies, other than directors bonuses? Toothless regulatory bodies in a nutshell and governments who have sat idly by and let it happen and a public that are satisfied with the consequences.
Private companies exist essentially to make a profit. To do so from providing vital utilities is crazy. And the water companies operate as a monopoly. I HAVE to use Anglian for outgoing and Essex and Suffolk for incoming (or vice versa I forget). There is NO option. Put it back in public hands.
I completely agree that Utilities and some essential industries should be nationalised. Unfortunately I can't forget (and at 72 I'm old enough to remember) how 'well' that went last time The Unions would need to grow up and join the 21st century before it would be any different a second time round.
