Anyone else find their garage is like an oven in the summer? Mine has a flat roof which doesn’t help I think. I ended up working just in shorts this morning and was still sweating like a pig. I don’t like working with the garage door open as we are next to a nature reserve and loads of people walk past. Door on the other end goes to a utility so not much air flow. I am wondering what options there are and have thought about a bathroom type extractor fan but there must be better options out there. Also wondered if insulating the roof would make any difference but not sure it would really.
Yes, a ceiling fan will work wonders, get the air moving and it will feel cooler, although not on thermometer! Large slow blades the way to go.
A 20 inch turbo fan -about £50- (metal frame) will take care of this. And since you can move it about you are always in the breeze.
I have a hot and cold one of these they’re brilliant tbf https://www.dyson.co.uk/air-treatment/purifiers/cool-auto-react/white-silver
That’s the same here, nice area but right next to a nature reserve with loads of passers by. Lad opposite had his bike nicked last year, although he did keep it locked up on the drive, not in the garage. I work on the grounds prevention is better than cure. I never leave the bikes on show a minute longer than I need to.
