  3. I agree. This chin skirt is really annoying, allowing no ventilation so misting.

I have removed the chin skirt for now, and see how I get on without it

    Not tried in rain yet.

  4. Success and frustration in equal measure today. Pirelli R60 RS’s replaced with Dunlop Sportmax Road Smart IVs. Disappointed to be told the chap who has fitted my tyres for the last 6 years is off to pastures new. Best tyre fitter I’ve come across in many years and feel like I’m losing a friend. I want to beat the crap out of the Scrambler Icon designer, whoever it was, certainly wasn’t an engineer  The faff to get the rear wheel out is just ridiculous but it’s done and the bike is back together. Heath Robinson mode in full swing and have fitted brackets under the pillion seat to securely fit the Kriega Drypack straps to. Managed to lose an M6, shouldered bolt that fell into the bike and didn’t make it to the floor and misplaced a 1/4” drive 4mm cap head socket. It’s been a long and sweaty day, time for a shower and a cold beer that’s been sitting in my fridge for a couple of days. Tomorrow is another day. Andy

  5. Tried the Shoei Neotec 3 helmet without the chin skirt. Much better. Adequate ventilation now. I recommend removing it

  6. Went for a bike ride. Does anyone else promise themselves they will be sensible but end up riding like a tw3t after 30 minutes?
    Or is it just me?

  7. Why did you wait 30 minutes ? I prefer the term ‘hooligan’ to twat, sounds sort of more manly :joy: Andy

  8. Took delivery of these new to me carbon wheels.

    Thanks again to @Bo01691

Never had them on any of my previous bikes so looking forward to finding out what the fuss is all about.

  9. Self control for 30 minutes and then a bit of "making progress" overtaking something and there you go.
Plus first time with reverse shift on the streetfighter so some of the shenanigans were definitely tw3tish.

  10. I had them on a Monster S4 that I 'fighter'd and I reckon they're the best bang for buck mod you can do on a bike.

  12. My centre stand was looking a bit rusty and letting the rest of the bike down so I got it powder coated. Now I need to really clean the rest of the bike or go out and get it dirty. Went back on easier than it came off.

  13. Took advantage of the pleasant weather for a trip down to the local Caffeine and Machines. 70 more miles towards the run in service target and an opportunity to scrub in the new Dunlop Road Smart IVs. @Sam1199, they are a big improvement for road riding and I have been very pleasantly surprised. Yes, it has been warm and dry and I took it steady but I like the tyre. Progressive turn in, holds a line, I found them predictable and they gave me enough confidence in the twisties to push on. I did run a couple of psi lower than book pressure, as was said, the carcass is definitely stiffer and it made for a more comfortable ride. I’ll see how they take a spanking in Scotland but at this early stage, I’m encouraged. Andy

  14. Removed a Sw-motech TraxAdv topbox & V4 Mutley rack mount from my DesertX (Duc accessory rear rack ) as the locks were made of cheese & could be opened by a coin/screwdriver. I had tried to see if the locks could be improved/fixed 1st but they fell apart/broke during the disassembly. So bolted a spare Touratech Zega Evo topbox (KTM :/ edition) I had lying around direct to the DDX rear rack. I had thought about tweaking the DDX rear rack to use Touratech rapid trap mount system but it looked like too much faff as the tube diameters were too fat for the rapid trap mounts. The other downside is it has a KTM logo etched into the black anodised box so maybe some careful obscuring with a suitable sticker is needed. Upside is the Zega Evo is a nice looking topbox (as topboxs go) & I’ve removed a load of iron mongery needed to fit a sw-motech box to Ducati rack mounts.

  15. I must apologise to the people of Kent and east Sussex for a little bit of excess speed at times and over exuberant blips on down changes today , but fcuk it I was having a great time. So much so that I didn't stop to take a pic so here it is on the drive with a sneaky wheelie bin .

  17. I’ve had mine done and I’d recommend covering the middle section in some kind of tape.

It gets subjected to a lot of stone chips.

  18. Meant to be Fridays, but a no show so far......

  19. Got a £40 'taxes, duties and fees' bill from FedEx for the SS injector that cost just under £140, from the Netherlands.

I'll be requiring a justification for that more than 'protecting local jobs' - when no-one in this country had one.

I'm pondering whether to use "fucking" every other word, or should I vary it with, say, "cunting"?

  20. The latter definitely, it carries considerable more weight. Although saying that it’s a term used with more frequency over in Ireland, especially towards the West in the farming community.
