Hi guys, I have a curious issue where the exhaust valve is only operating when the bike is in neutral. No error codes. Std ecu from another bike, but not sure if this could be the problem. Does anyone have ideas to what it could be? Best Morten
Yes, 100%, double checked several times.. same result. Checked the side stand to see if switch there had any influence, but no. Just the gear selector switch. Any ideas is appreciated.. I'm out of ideas
I think some brands did it to get through euro which ever number it is, noise levels, not 100% sure but think Aprilia did. So shut in neutral as that's when the test is, open when in gear, but I know it's usually for low rev torque etc, especially on 4 cyl engines.
How do you know it only operates when in neutral? I can guess, but should still ask. Also the test run at key on is just a test of operability, how do you know the valve isn’t working whilst you’re riding the bike and going through the relevant rev range? The valve is really just a noise/emissions thing. It’s default position is open. A fault of its operability doesn’t always trigger an EML. Personally I wouldn’t worry about it, or just buy an ESE from Vizitech or Healtech and take it out of the equation altogether.
