  1. Enjoy, was in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland and Germany last week, very hot, my SS cooked my inner thighs when in traffic :astonished:

  2. Thanks, I did a very similar trip two years ago on my SS, mine did the same . I've never been so hot on a bike in doing 15 euro trips, it was quite painful at times. Pushed it at the tunnel waiting to board to avoid the heat sitting on it, also drank oil hence going to the dark side with the modern bike .

  3. My new SS not the old SL, love my SS but it really needs cruise control and better cooling. Good job we don’t want anymore kids!!!

  5. I saw a Canadian company on Faceache selling cruise for the SS, it’s plug and play, I think they’re called Verdian???
    Expensive tho at about $500.
    Have a great trip

  9. Put it on charge, as been away/ not ridden for a few weeks

  10. I was playing tennis today and 3 bikes pulled up next to the court. One was a 2018 Pikes Peak, I was envious. Simple as that.

  11. Monster 1000 DS.

Switch moved on the handlebar, when I move the fast idle lever

Locating pin, missing from the switch.

    upload_2025-6-28_20-57-48.png

Determining size of hole, in handlebar.

    upload_2025-6-28_20-58-35.png

    Enlarging hole, in the switch.

I didn't have any small diameter plastic rod. Turned a pin from bronze brazing rod. Photo shows pin, ready to part-off the rod. Tapered the end that fits into the handlebar, in case the position wasn’t quite correct.

    upload_2025-6-28_21-1-8.png
Facing end of the pin, after parting-off.

    upload_2025-6-28_21-1-39.png
    Finished pin.

    upload_2025-6-28_21-1-57.png

Needed to push the pin deeper into hole, in the switch.

Switch no longer moves a little around the handlebar, when I move the fast idle lever.

  12. IMG_1244.jpeg This is my 2 1/2 year old grandson, Billy, aka Billy Whizz. He does not sit still, if his eyes are open he’s like a silver ball in a pinball machine. My sister in law loaned him a motorbike today, Jesus Christ it was a duck to water.

Straight away he needed a helmet, complete with imaginary neck strap fastening. He then fiddled around by the steering yoke as though he was turning on the ignition. Then he took it round the back to fill it up with the hose pipe! I haven’t taught him any of that stuff but when he came back we asked him where he’d been and he said
‘ I’ve been riding my motorbike across America’!
    Unbelievable what they soak up.
Then he took his lid off and when it wouldn’t hang on th handlebar ( no strap) he placed it very, very, carefully on the petrol tank. :D
I don’t know where he’s absorbed it from but he had the whole lot, spot on.

I was shocked. Absolutely unbelievable but fantastic. He even knew where to put his feet up where the pegs should be, there were no pegs but to him, there were. Gotta love it. IMG_1243.jpeg IMG_1245.jpeg
