Rear Axle Torque Settings

  1. Anyone know the torque settings for the rear axle nuts on the new 2025 V2S? I would like to adjust my chain, even tho' the user manual says take it to the workshop (FFS!)

  2. Just been in contact with the dealers; they insist it is 230Nm! Seems high to me....

  4. That's the thing, I tried undoing one of them yesterday with a shortish breaker bar and it was very easy compared to the nut on a single sided swingarm, or the front sprocket nut on my Hypermotard so I don't believe they are currently at 230Nm. I will get a torque wrench on them today, starting at 120Nm and working up until the nut starts tightening to get an idea.

  5. My Paul Smart classic is 150nm, so 120nm sounds a little low to me.

  6. The 120Nm is just a starting point to gauge how tight they currently are (as delivered). I’ll keep increasing the value till the nut begins to turn….bet it’s less than 230!

Why Ducati just can’t provide a table of torque settings for commonly adjusted fastenings is a joke. Do they really expect people to book a slot with a dealership, then pay to have the chain lubed and adjusted (as per the user manual)?

  7. The new V2, twin sided arm, is 145Nm. 230 is the old single sided torque value for the 55mm nut.

  8. If you told them clearly which bike you have, and which fixing you are tightening, then a certain "dealer" should be feeling quite embarrassed right now.

  9. They have now backtracked and say there 'is some contradicting info into the setting, and are investigating'. I've adjusted my chain and torqued to 145nm....

  10. Confirmed as 145Nm by Pro Twins (great bunch). Just had my running in service there. Endless cups of tea and banter as you watch them work on your bike :)
