  1. Like most British circuits then? Top speed down mile long straights is not really that interesting.

  2. Not my bag either. How boring is brands Indy! Sachsenring is basically that with a few more long lefts. Shite, especially when we’ve just come from the likes of Assen and mugello.

  3. Mat Oxley did a presentation at the Birmingham bike show last year, on this very topic. His take on why British riders don’t succeed abroad, is the significant differences between the traditional, old school knadgery tracks in the UK and the more modern tracks that have been designed (or modified like Montmelo and Assen) for high speed and flow. I heard the TNT commentary team state more than once, some of the MotoGP riders do not like the Sachsenring because it doesn’t suit the current level of technology in the bikes. Awesome track for Moto3 though. Andy

  4. Think this is spot on.

  5. It isn't the tracks that make the races boring or appear so, it's just MM93 is the fastest rider on the fastest bike handling it round circuits. The riders behind are either struggling to compete with him or the otherswho are racing for the highest finishing position.

  6. I didn’t even watch the moto gp (thank god) I’m referring to the track itself.
2 overtaking points 80% of a lap on the left hand side of the tyre in third gear.

Not for me and even Hodgy mention how shit it is and he seems to love just about everything.

  7. You can also add Valencia to that to a much lesser degree.
Too slow too tight too boring and should never be the last round on the.calendar, if at all

  8. People saying that it’s boring this year and not going to watch it next year, I’m excited to see Toprak on a MotoGP bike next year, see what he can do.
It will be a shame for WSBK when he goes but there will always be somebody else who will step up and have a rivalry with Bulega.

  9. I just want JM to say he’s staying then it all starts fitting into place for next year (and very quickly I’d imagine)

Definitely looking forward to seeing TR on a gp bike of course although not holding out much hope.

A lot can change but I think bsb will be the series to watch next year especially with potentially foggy Redding taz and maybe one or two more back there.

Thats if someone can stop Brad Ray lol

  10. I think BSB has the potential to be a corker next year too.

  11. I don't understand all the negativity around MotoGP. Yes we would all love to see closer racing, adding to the spectacle, but it is no fault of MM, that he has an inate ability to extract the best from the bike under him, whilst others on very similar machinery, simply cannot (with the exception of AM and Quatararo). It boils down to an individuals talent, separating the pack. Be careful what you wish for, else they will slap a weight penalty on MM's bike (as they did with Bautista, and all that achieved was to eradicate his dominance for having the the upper hand, thereby clipping his wings).

  12. Just enjoy MM93 whilst he is still riding. It will be a very very very long time before we see his like again.

I can't see anyone in any other class who comes close to his talent.

  13. Can’t wait til he’s retired or the Ducati turns to shite tbh and there’s always someone next in line. History tells you that much.

  14. There is….but not with his talent. Walked into Motogp and showed everyone what riding fast was really all about…including Rossi.
There isn’t anyone coming through that stands out in the way he did.

  15. Your opinion mate I have no issue with that. wasn’t that long ago Pedro Acosta was “the new Marquez” though and now it’s the like of quiles etc. things can change very quickly in sport as you know.
For me he’s not the greatest ever because of his barren spell with Honda (and his associated ahem temperament) and also being quite mediocre on the second best bike on the grid.
Loads will disagree I’m sure but as I may have mentioned once or twice previously IDGAF

  16. No one has done what Marquez did. Kenny Robert’s is the only other to win his first season, I think. Not Acosta, not Rossi, not anyone. Rossi was phenomenal in his first 8 years but as the competition got better he faded away as a race winner.
Marquez however First season he won 6 races, 9 poles and 11 fastest laps. Next year he won 10 races on the trot.
I really cannot see anyone achieving that again.
He dominated in a way that is so unusual.
And here we are 12 years later and he is still doing it.
