  2. I didn't call at Jamaica.

Roatan Honduras, St. Petes FL, Cuba, St AndresColumbia, San Blas Panama, & Christophe Colon were all the ports I landed in "The Spanish Lake".

  3. Bah.... Doesn't appeal to me at all. Wind out awnings, open sided vans and occasionally both!

(pic pre removal of all the crap!)

  4. Crossed into the Czech Republic. Forests, heavy rain showers, pretty little villages - and some sunshine. Good :upyeah:

  5. My quote was from Reformer Vans in Wolvey, Leicestershire

A SWB van would be cheaper

  6. A friend of mine took his transit to the tip and was told he wasn’t allowed in due to the vehicle being a builders type van. So he threw in a fridge and a mattress and said it was now a live-in vehicle, which did the trick. On my travels I’ve picked up on this form of prejudice in where some camp sites are sceptical to the point of refusing entry to vans that don’t have side windows, fridges etc. Reading between the lines I’d say it’s a safe guard against the travelling community gaining access and making like very difficult for the other campers and the owners.

  7. Regarding vans and council tips, at my local tip, if, and that is a very big IF, I use the van for tip runs, all I need to do is book the van in, and tell them it's household waste

  8. It seems different councils adopt different policies when it comes to discarding household waste. He lives in Carlisle which differs greatly from here in Manchester.

  9. I think its a way to stop people who run a business moving people's crap getting away without paying commercial rates.

I also think there's a massive prejudice against ALL "travelers" when -although they have a few bad apples like every social group- mostly they are fine. Currently its a quandary as many middle class types are driving around the UK, parking up and living in their van for a few days; just like the "travelers" they despise!

  10. I'm afraid I'm going to disagree with you on the travellers, having grown up in an area where there are a lot of traveller sites they have a reputation that is well deserved.

Clearly your interactions are more positive than my own.

  14. I’d ditch the hash browns (just oil sponges), toast and toms and go for black pud, bread and an extra sausage.

Or basically, a completely different breakfast

  15. There is so much wrong with this picture, I’m seething.

    Watercress on a breakfast
    One sausage
    No mushrooms
    No black pudding

Where the fuck is this place? It’s time to name and shame.
