Hi i have just purchased a xdiavel s and have been on a few rides. What should the the approx gear ranges or rpm, ie if im doing 60 i feel like i should be in 6th hear but it seems too high a gear. So do people up to 60mph not actually hit the 6th gear even on a cruise? Should i only be hitting 6th at higher speeds
Whatever you do, don't 'lug' the engine. Ducati engines are happier above, say, 3500-4000rpm (& thrive on revs) so at 60mph I wouldn't be anywhere near 6th.
Just as i thought when riding it feels like mainly wanting to stay in upto 3rd on local roads and 4th and 5th on highways within speed limits. 6th seemed to high a gearfor upto 60 70 mph. Just thought id confirm before i start revving
