So what have you done today..?

  1. Got word today the bikes arrive in Valencia on the 22nd, it's been ages. Hopefully they show up like they were picked up in Cali.

  2. That didn't work! After all of the noise and everyone getting their share, I think that it was supposed to be £700,000 going to Chase de Veer to look after, for me. I never appreciated that "looking after" meant "keepsies" I have sent an email (not so far replied to) to my sol, who is supposed to be a trustee of the fund - my fund, I incorrectly thought, but it appears not!

I will give it to the end of Friday and then book Spain and the Orkney Isles for next year, anyway. Probably Orkney in May and then Spain in June. Although, maybe Spain in April and again in June as I no longer give a flying f. . . .!!!!!!!

I just had a look at the new Multistrada V2 on-line. The problem, for me, was it seemed too heavy, but now the (my) 200kg weight limit seems broken by a kilogram! Without fuel, but I'm not fussy! I'll get down to Riders and have a look sometime, but no rush! Fing is, out of all of the current Ducati range, the Multistrada V2 seemed to work for me the best!

  3. I bought two tickets to see Yungblud in Glasgow next April. :) Both Newcastle and Leeds are sold out

  4. Orkney in May might be a midge-fest. Maybe check online if they're likely to bother you, or ask Finm? You'll need to do that directly as the silly old fucker has blocked me and so he won't see this message.

  5. I want the really long days of that time of year. Midges don't bother me. I haven't even worked out how I am gonna do it yet, as in how long and where to stay. All I know is that I plan to take the train to Aberdeen and then the ferry to Orkney. Gloucester to Aberdeen may be a bit much for one day and I might stop off for a night or two on the way. I think that the train that I take from Bristol Parkway to Plymouth starts in Edinburgh. I did do some work in Edinburgh many, many years ago but remember nothing of the place, not even how I got there! It was Oswald's of Edinburgh it was. I can remember that!

Apparently, as I've had a reply from my solicitor, she didn't realise that i wanted the money right now. I thought that I made myself clear, but obviously I don't make myself clear enough! DOES ANYONE UNDERSTAND ME?:no_mouth::eyes::bomb:

  6. Final checks on the bike and then loaded up my bags ready for the off first thing in the morning.

  8. Must be very frustrating Perry, i think i would be tempted to send your solicitor a witnessed, obviously dated and recorded delivery letter* asking for a clear explanation as to why you are not currently being allowed access your own compensation money having being told that you are entitled to it, and have asked to (have immediate access to it).

*regardless of the number of times you have asked for this verbally, although you could include that quantity of times asked-for, after you were awarded it.

P.S. - don't write it in this ink though - a mistake i constantly make on here.

    :upyeah:

  9. She got back to me saying that she didn't realise that I was asking for the money right away. Maybe I wasn't clear enough, I jut don't know. Anyway, she said that she would sort it. I'll check my bank account tomorrow.

It's not the end of the world, though. And it gives me the confidence to book shit knowing that the money is on its way. Tomorrow, I will start to research how long the train takes to go to Edinburgh and if I can do that in an easy day. Also, hotels in Santander and ferries from Plymouth. Keeps me quiet looking into shit, anyway. Actually, I think that Spain and Orkney in the same year might be a bit much. I will just do Spain once or twice next year. The good thing with Spain is any part of the year from maybe March to October would be fine.

I might still do the train to either Edinburgh or somewhere on the rail route, but I'll leave Orkney for another year.

Knowing that I don't have to think about changing cars helps. Now the front suspension is going to shit, since I got it back, doesn't worry me. The VW hire car went exactly the same way. Started good, but the roads around here, wrecked it in a week.

  10. Mostly (I think)

  11. Is there a sleeper train?

  12. I know of no other type:zzz::zzz::zzz:

  13. So take the overnighter then and you will wake up there? End of problem. I took one to Scotland myself -a hundred years ago- from London. It was good!

  14. It’s about 5 hours from Kings Cross to Waverley if that helps.

Using the sleeper would give you extra time in Edinburgh itself. Waverley is ideal for access to the city.

  16. I haven't been for a longtime, but the pubs and restaurants were a good time too, even when it was raining! The people really made it.

Looking at the Sleeper train timetable, its only available from London Euston to Edinburgh leaving at 23.45 arriving at 7.30am. Its mostly booked out in August, and costs £260 for a bunk, or £350 for ensuite. I think I'd fly or take a day train!

  17. I've booked two trips to Spain. One in April and one in July. Next, I need to think about booking Spanish hotels and less importantly a Plymouth hotel, although I haven't yet looked into trains and I might go from my house to Plymouth in time just for the ferry - no, I won't! That's mad, as the train will either be too busy to get on, cancelled, or very late. I don't need the grief. I will get to Plymouth at least the day before, or maybe even the day before the day before. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, relaxxxxxxxxxx . . . .

I figure that it is best to book and pay out of my own funds, to just get this done. Even though it seems (to me) a long way into the future, the web site said dog places were already booked up for a lot of crossings! So people do book well ahead!

I could do it cheaper and have spent out on options that are not essential - cabins, food, water in the cabin, but I want to enjoy it. The Plymouth-Santander crossing is a big part of the fun!

That will do me for next year. The only other thing might be a few days in Worcester by the Severn.

  18. Crazy day around here. I need a job part 5062.

There was a missing girl with special needs I saw on the tow path/river this morning out early with the dogs but didn’t realise she was in trouble. You don’t speak to young girls on their own at my age etc…

She had no shoes on so I just thought she was a hippy/boat folk. There’s also been a cafe boat set up recently so thought she was part of that.

Got back to the car park after our walk and her carer was there in bits asking me sorry have you seen a young girl with no shoes on. Told her where I’d seen her obviously and where to try to head her off.

Plod in the helicopter found her safe and sound about three hours later thankfully. And they were there overhead about 10 minutes of when I left the car park.

    Chapeau.

  19. Ordered the Evotech Tail Tidy and the official Ducati Performance LED indicators for the rear to tidy it all up a bit. It appears the previous owner had put a cheaper aftermarket one on, which on closer inspection had the paint stripping a bit. They had kept the original rear indicators as well which also look a little bulky in my personal opinion. Should be far cleaner once both installed

  20. Friends came to stay yesterday. We'd not seen them for months.

Everyone's still in bed but I've been up since 5am with the pup and we've even been for a walk around the block :)
