  1. Meanwhile the damage is done.

I didn't know about that function were you can see blocked posts. It does explain one or two posting patterns though. I won't be using it.
Here, you will never guess what, but it's raining this morning. There are worse places to get pished on tho and the scortchio is coming.
    Nice

  2. Wow a whole thousand pounds, how big of the multi millionaire :joy:

Meanwhile his bacon faced rat of a mate is still stoking up hate with no consequence whatsoever.

  3. More depressing than interesting but just seen a firm on LinkedIn after a multi lingual paralegal (with a degree) and they’re offering 32 fucking grand, hahahahaha it’ll cost you ten of that to get in and out of that overpriced, overcrowded, over polluted shithole. What the actual fuck is going on in the job market these days?
Carte blanche to take the absolute piss.

  4. And don’t get me started on firms who use a fucking AI tool to vet your CV, can’t even be bothered to read it themselves :joy:

  5. I’ll only use LinkedIn when desperate.

    Full of attention seeking cunts.

And agree 100% on jobs, salaries and AI CV scraping.

That and getting impersonal emails from recruiters. Yeah. Fuck off.

  6. Got laid off in March and I won’t lie it’s been the hardest/frustrating/most depressing 5 months of my professional career since I left college in 1992.
Been trying to get a foot inside the door of my old firms nearest rivals with my 30 years experience and only found out last week (during an eventual interview sorted externally) that I’ve been applying for “entry to mid level jobs” on their pay scale and the job I was interviewed for was offering 10 grand less than what I was on 6 months ago.

I’ll take it now cos it’s fullly remote and I don’t have to find 10 grand a year to go into an office twice a week which seems to again, depressingly be the norm now.

    How we’ve regressed since Covid.

Meanwhile that cunt Farage is telling anyone who’ll listen some poor twat and his kids in a dinghy are the enemy.

    Grim.

  7. Agreed mate.

Firstly pleased for you that you found something.

I had 5 months out last year and it was horrendous. It’s horrible, especially with no spare money to get you by (we drew down on the mortgage).

I don’t think I’d have a job now if the one I’ve got hadn’t come along. It’s 25 mins away, 6 days in office a month (half days OK, just as well as I don't work with anyone there) - so I tend to ride as often as possible.

And, it’s perm. I’m done with contracting, it’s all been inside IR35 since 2020 for me so all the risk and no reward. Cunts.

I'm only earning £2k a year more than I was 12 years ago (in my last perm role)…..BUT I’m gainfully employed and can pay the bills.

  8. Not even got it yet. My old boss works there and wants me on his team but waiting to see if they’re in a “position to negotiate” haha.

Meanwhile, we’re back to honking and abusing folk like bin men for delaying us a few minutes in our day when *some of us were stood on on our doorsteps clapping them like performing seals 3 years or so ago.

Something soooo morally wrong with this country (and many more like it). Can’t for the life of me work out what it is though apart from rich Tory twat bubbles who are petrified of anyone impeding their comfy life style.

  10. Imagine if it had been racially motivated, the country’s a tinder box right now (thanks to the usual morons) and I’d have been genuinely worried.

  11. Awful as it is, these stories are nothing new. and probably not the degeneration of youth in society some may be wanting to portray.
Hopefully the justice system will deal with it appropriately.
When I was growing up, a lad that attended the same school as me but a few years older, did something similar. Only he committed his crimes in the reverse order. He got locked away for a considerable period of time if not indefinitely.

eg: Robert Thompson and Jon Venables (1993). Feral kids are not a new phenomenon, but the 90s is (IMO) when British society started to fragment.

Exploding Honesty Box Leaves Turnip Thief "Shaking Like a dog"

A Camborne farmer has been given a “stern ticking-off” after rigging his exploding bird scarer to his honesty box, in what police described as “a highly dangerous and a bit disturbing approach to retail security”.

Denzil Richards, 64, said he was “sick to the back of his teeth” because people kept stealing the change from his turnip stand.
“I put a few turnips out each day and the money buys me a pasty supper,” he told Cornish News, “then some hootoot comes along and thinks it’s okay to pinch my pasty money! Well, not on my watch!”. After the box was stolen twice in a month along with a turnip - leaving him “no choice but to have jam sandwiches for tea” - Denzil decided enough was enough.
“I wired the bird scarer so if anyone tried making off with the money box, it would go off - BOOM!” he explained. “I had to test it first, and I tell ’e what, my ears are still ringing now, I can't even listen to the Archers on the wireless.”

Within hours of setting the trap, Denzil heard a deafening bang.
“I ran out with my pitchfork,” he said. “And there was old matey, sat on the ground, hair standing on end, holding the box, shaking like a dog. Silly bugger didn’t even run, just sat there twitching.”
Denzil eventually called an ambulance, and the man was treated for shock before being discharged. Police gave Denzil a warning and advised him to “get some cameras installed”.

The farmer later apologised to the would-be thief, handing over “two gurt turnips and a carrot shaped like a you-know-what” as compensation.
“Looking back, it was a bit daft,” Denzil admitted. “But I bet he won’t do it again.”

  15. This hotel has housed migrants for the last 5 years. I know because my parents have lived there for 50 years. One whiff of as yet un convicted trouble and the reform lot get what they’ve always wanted

The United Kingdom of racists and little englanders is winning. Congratulations.

  16. That hotels been housing migrants without a whiff of bother for five years and all of a sudden it’s a “threat to the community”.

I can count a few names who were a bigger threat to that community who were born and bred there and I’d need more than two hands and feet (shame I haven’t got their inbred extra digits).

Horrible racist unwelcomg rats and why I don’t speak to a single one of them anymore.

Playing the victim card too hahaha. Vermin.

Rant over. As you were etc…

  17. I just fact checked this as the text reads like it's AI generated and it turns out the bear was not rescued by a Russian but was in fact saved by one of the biologists, an American man named Adam Warwick.
