Classic Tt / Mgp 2025

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by H2pots, Jul 29, 2025.

  1. Classic TT / manx grand prix running the last fortnight in August.

    Anybody going over?

I'm over on me hyper for 11 nights, half of practice week and all of race week.

Fingers crossed the weather gods play ball this year, last year the whole event got a right kicking with the weather.

Back to to fortnight event (thankfully) with plenty of contingency times / days so hopefully we'll get full race distances.

  2. I’m going, camping in the back of my van, taking my 916 and Hyper 1100s.
Let’s see if a 916 can win again

  3. Here a link to the Classic TT practice / race schedule.
    17 to 29 August 2025

I'm hoping our local guy Sam West and his 916 will do really well!
I think Sam will also be racing a little Bimota (400cc Yamaha FZR engine), it should be interesting to see how it performs!

  4. Why not? It did before, and the course is less bumpy now.

  5. Agreed

I think they'll go well enough with reliability. It'll be a tough ask for Dunlop to put it on the top step of the podium though, the classic superbikes like the zxr/gsxr/916 etc are well developed.

3 laps should help with the attrition rate

  6. It's been a while, but I seem to remember the Norton Rotary race bike had an issue with generating HUGE amounts of heat!
Perhaps the engineers have sorted out that with better materials & cooling systems.

  13. H2pots does it ruin it or is it so busy it doesn't matter ,my first time on the bike

  14. I reckon they have the balance right, the mountain is now run one way so the chance of a head on are 1 in a billion (They aren't nil...as people still attempt to turn left off the likes of the A14 at the Bungalow and up at the Beinn y Phott Rd at Brandywell...Police are usually stationed there to intercept the few that are a bit brain dead) It is only the actual TT route that has these 50s where they are de-restricted normally. You can still find de-restricted roads if that's your thing (It feels weird the first time you do 120 up the Mountain and overtake a police car...)

  15. I know the mountain road is one way during TT, but it's never been implemented for the Manx GP ?
Does anyone know were the information on the road bike display on track at Jurby is ?
