Went over to the Cotswolds and had a great day riding around with Bumpkin and Ian from the European Multistrada Meeting and the forum. Cotswolds looked really beautiful and were awash with tea rooms and coffee shops at bijou prices. We rotated bikes, compared notes and concluded they were all good. That’s the last outing my Metzeler’s are going to get. The front is toast and has worn such that you get that feeling it might wash out. Even though it doesn’t, it’s not pleasant flopping it into bends. Weirdly it’s more worn on the right than the left, which I can only presume is either roundabouts or camber. Hopefully I’ll get the new Dunlops on today or tomorrow, which are already mounted on Marchesini rims. Ready for the next fun trip which hopefully will be Morocco! One thing we didn’t do was take a single pic. Have to go back and do it again.

It was a great day and nice to ride with both yourself and Ian again, thankfully with a different conclusion to the ride for me Swapping bikes was interesting too. Maybe next time we could do a two or three day trip into the delights of Wales or something over your side of the country.

One of those, albeit not quite as big, fell out of the sky and landed next to me in my back garden (presumably dropped by a heron) a while back. I’d only just relocated to the countryside a few weeks previously after living in London for decades and I was like “What the fuck? This place is more dangerous than where I’ve just moved from!”
I think that's one of the invasive (American?) species. Heard a R4 programme about them last week - they've decimated the UK species unfortunately.

Was meant to be heading to Hawes for a few nights today, packed the car last night ready for a 6am departure, but the Mrs is feeling as rough as hell, so had to unpack the car and all our stuff. Not sure if we'll have another try tomorrow or Thursday, but it may be worth scrapping it completely, as she won't be able to eat properly when we're there. Annoyingly, the booking is non refundable, and I'd found us a lovely country hotel, which wasn't cheap. Hey ho.

Worked in Rome, off & on, for a good year or so. Must sees, imo, are the Pantheon & a small church called San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane designed by Borromini.
Despite the lack of debauchery, how is the area? Never been there, but I am curious? You're almost in Portugal, will you visit there too?
