I have had numerous flies get into my lid via the air vents, but they have not really bothered me until recently, when a wasp found it’s way in there ! Needless to say, I am now seeking any available advice as to how I can stop this from happening again. All options gladly received !
What a thing. Wasps getting in a closed lid, Bad enough those little midges that get in and start walking around in your ear - a bit distracting that. But a wasp. It is a bit of a bug scoop on the front of the helmet. Stuff some sort of mesh in the opening - that might be enough to block the larger insects and still keep the air vent open. A bit crude but maybe sufficient for this purpose. And watch out for these !
I wonder if the mesh from a plastic strainer or something like that would work ? Something to look into. Any other solutions ?
Same problem on the 3 I'll be searching youtube for suggestions. Apparently Schuberth do fit a mesh to prevent such nasties.
Buy a small plastic strainer. Cut the mesh out and then cut the mesh into 4 quarters. Each quarter will then roll into a cone shape and will expand into any hole and stop bugs, whilst allowing the air to still flow. HJC helmets are worst for this and the latest Shark also now seem to have the same problem.
Cannot understand why Shoei would fit a mesh filter in the jaw of the Neotec 3 but not in the top vent Andy
