I actually really rate him. Motogp bikes have changed a hell of a lot, tyre management is a steep learning curve, ignoring the extra tech and huge power. It is not like Marc jumped on a Ducati last year and won his first season on a Ducati? He finished 3rd.Which team was that? Gresini….Even with his talent he had to learn the bike, with lots of established Ducati riders taking time to adapt to the latest machinery too. Today, Fermin was half a second a lap faster than Marquez for several laps. The other (normally rather good Ducati riders) were nowhere. He started 6th on the grid? Then got past Acosta and Bez. No mugs.
Especially as their lad was there at Silverstone when he designed Jake's helmet. Only got one year from when he was diagnosed. This disease is terrible. I guess that the parents would have probably known that there was not much else that could be done with the treatment for a couple of months, and it would be about making the most of the time left. Very sad for this young lad and the whole family. Sylvain is really such a nice bloke and as a Frenchman living in the UK, I have double sympathy for him. I can't comprehend how life can be so cruel to the nicest of people. And yeah I agree on the commentating, I had MotoGP.com for a while and came back to TNT just for this trio. They are spot on.
Moto 3 was such a good race to watch and plenty or elbows out. Moto2 was not bad , Jake a weekend to forget really. even if he hadn't got pushed out at the start he wouldn't have been anywhere. he is off to Honda in WSBK next year, it is a done deal. Moto GP, well Pecco doesn't like to be ruffed up and it showed when he went backwards in the race really. good to see KTM doing better but not much of a race, Aldeguer was amazing to watch. i was one of the many who couldn't believe he got the ride in the first place. glad to be proved wrong. Good to see Stonor talking about why Marc is just so good, old school mindset and understanding the bike, not thinking about the electronics like the latest riders. He made a comment that teams need to stop looking at a magic bullet or trick for the bike to catch Marc, they need to look at themselves instead.
Bang on. It is notable when teams get it wrong with set-up too. VR46 have two good (not great) riders. They were nowhere this weekend. It has to be failure on getting the bike (track specific) ready. The little things add up. Acosta going well, with just a small aero change giving him confidence. I wonder how many riders have also given up psychologically, thinking that they cant touch Marc? Maybe they cant, but I am sure the problems that Pecco has this season are mostly from the head, not the bike. I feel sorry for the Yamaha and Honda riders, there seems to be a gulf between them and the European brands. That is more than rider mind set. Seems a shame that Zarco and Fabio are lumbered with clearly slower machinery. This weekend was an embarrassment for Yamaha. Would love to see the other riders and teams step up. Unfortunately though, while Marc looks on top form, he also looks like he has bit left. Bad news for the rest.
Just watched it. Cant cope with the gushing for nothing from “Gav” and that squawking idiot. 14 riders finished it and then 4 Yamahas. Amazing etc… Aldegeeur was impressive.
You have to wonder how long it will be before he gets a move pulled back on him like he pulled on EB and Pedro though lol
I 100% get rubbing is racing and that’s why we all love moto 3 more than anything right now but he doesn’t rub, he just rides through other riders time and time again. edit: sorry thought we were talking about Munoz here forget the above
More good news from Casey (has he ever mentioned what he thinks *would fix things or is it just the same incessant moaning he did when he was active?) https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/1079595/1/casey-stoner-2027-motogp-rules-wrong-way
Awesome rider. (And full stop..) Devoid of humour, personality or redeeming features otherwise. Was pleased when he moaned off.
Someone’s had his arse slapped https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/1...ks-austria-motogp-outburst-no-problems-ducati
We all know how petty Ducati can be and I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him demoted to a satellite team for next year (on the same bike he’s struggling with this year). And it’s only going to get worse for him this weekend with 5 or 6 first gear corners or whatever it is round that glorified go kart track .
No exactly, and Ducati throwing their eggs into MM ignoring others may end up with them going the way of Honda seeing as he can ride around (alomst) anything...
