Took the 899 out for a ride into Wales, not ridden it for a while. Did about 150 miles. Back on the boat now for some home brew.
A sad day yesterday as I'd to said goodbye to an excavator that i've been using for 5 years, also a quick rideout on the 998. I think only the third ride this year on that particular machine including the ride to the mot station.
Sorry for your loss, however I’d have thought the ride out on the 998 would have cheered you up some what?
Currently trying to find an air leak on the front on the supermoto....water everywhere apart from where I need it...
If anyone is coming to Jersey and is visiting Elizabeth Castle, make sure you see the musket and cannon firing demonstration, the guy doing it is absolutely brilliant. A sense of humour is required, a small amount of marching is involved and if you are French, keep quiet about it. ;-)
Caught the 7oclock ferry Friday night from Dover to Calais. Drove 2 hrs for an overnight stop in Belgium. Now in Holland , back next Monday. Perfect weather so far and charming people. Surprised when the sat nav said turn right onto ferry.
Mixed bag....located the air leak on one spoke...took the tyre off, resealed - got rid of one spoke leak...got another....ordered the rubber strip that covers the spokes - try again next week... Got some time to sort out some issues on dads 400/4.... Went out for test ride post Keith helping me a couple of months back with the carb setup.... 1st ride out - initial test of carbs.....much better than before, bogs down a tiny bit at pull-away....otherwise better than its ever been... 2nd ride out - tension throttle cables. 3rd ride out - set chain tension. 4th ride out went for a rip around town... probably the longest ive been out on it since i rebuilt it!
Yesterday. My cricket club played an annual memorial match in honour of a club stalwart who was also the patriarch of a local and very large family. In fact, the family is so large that they can more or less field a team of their own kin, which they supplement with ringers, some of whom are very useful cricketers. Nevertheless, victory has been ours the last 4 years in a row. I opened the bowling and managed to dislodge one of their openers with, even if I have to say so myself, an absolute Jaffa of an away swinger which pitched outside off then jagged back off the seam and flattened the middle stump. Even better, was that the batman was one of the ringers and he plays first class county cricket. I wasn't so fortunate at the other end of the match though, as I came in to bat with us needing 6 to win with 1 delivery remaining. The headlines were starting to write themselves, but rather than the ball sailing back over the bowler's head and into the cow field for a maximum and being carried off on the shoulders of my teammates, I completely missed it and was clean bowled. It was a lovely tea though. View attachment 344338
