  1. Tyre changing duties today....took the supercorsa's off (theyve got another summer left in them) Fitted a brand new set of Avon's ive had in storage (got them cheap when Avon closed down near me) - the old Continentals i had as my winter tyres (well the rear) is pretty well fucked now but the front had got a bit left so ill use that on the SXV.

  2. In the not too distant future I will be that way myself and looking for a campsite. Can you share a name or a link please?

  4. Today I ordered an electronic ignition for my 1972 450 bevel single from Sachse of Bremen. Continued with the original points ignition up to now, but perhaps the time has come to go electronic, 50 years on.

  6. Phone died and the charging block was only good for a few photos hear and there during the day.
Weather changed to lovely sunshine as we entered the bnb last night wet to the bone, nice warm bath and then back out to the pub for more pints of Guinness and later dinner. Bnb was lovely. Got a photo of the room, but the rest of the house was beautiful.

Woke this morning to sunshine and the only rain we'd see, is in the uk. Not much but enough to prove the waterproofs are more wateraccepting now.

We had only gone 60 miles out from calais but when your soaked through, you start to count every second. Main point of the trip was for FIL to test his French which he's been learning for several years and maybe have the confidence to come here himself on the enfield. Seeing how we rode through weather warning rain where the roads look more like a fast flowing river I think he'll be fine!

We took the road back and could appreciate what we couldnt see on the way down. Stopped at the ww1/2 cemetery, its such a small % of how many people died yet this place felt huge. Almost 11k headstones mainly all from ww1.

Rode up to boulogne, parked up by the beach to take a walk by the market and stop for lunch. Also saw a very nice bmw with side car. Think the FIL was a bit envious, I know he wants to take his side car out for a proper trip :D

Then last stop before calais ferry back home, was at a bunker 'batterie Todt'. With a rather large boomstick on train tracks. Lots of info as you walk around the bunker. Ranging from how it was constructed, how many soldiers where there, the fighting that took place before surrendering and plenty more. was about €8 pp.

Nice to get away, highlights that I need better waterproofs and charger. Food was great and the french crumpet is always a treat to admire.

Oh and of course, it wouldnt be a trip with out the enfield breaking down at least once

  10. That is lovely - I like the little footplate to ease access into the chair.

As I get older the sheer perverse nature of an outfit has increasing appeal.

  12. Got two more job rejections and applied for another one at the place that laid me off in March (I must be mental etc…)

Completed 3 more hours of my required 150 hours online training before the dog grooming course starts in late November too.

Nice to have some kind of sense of achievement after 6 months scratching my arse.

  13. Id have one now if i had the spare cash, im only 32! Im tempted to say to the FIL for the next dragon rally to take the side car and bell tent. My bike may well be down for that as its nearly hit 18k miles. Have to take slow roads only as its a 350 enfield pulling a sidecar o_O
