“A soulless hole” is a perfect description of their ground tbh. You’re miles from the pitch, there are loads of spaces with no seats although even if they utilised those areas they don’t have enough fans to fill them anyway, there are signs everywhere encouraging fans to snitch on anyone chanting hurty words or standing up(!) and just to kill whatever remnants of atmosphere survived those factors, they’ve now built a bizarre ersatz (and usually empty) corporate beer garden carpeted with Astro turf behind the goals, which is where the most passionate fans should be.
Is that West Ham's new defensive tactic, moving the goalposts to the far touchline thereby limiting space for opposition attacks?
