Hes earned a top step bike after this years performance so far. The bros are in their own league this year between the bikes and themselves. Only a matter of time before patience with Peco goes I think if he doesnt at least give either of the Marquez's some kind of fight next year. Appreciate and understand peoples frustration with the sport at this point, but Marquez's domination for a second round is pretty amazing to watch for me, Im not a fanboy or anything but he is a once in a generation talent
do you think even the ducati team is getting bored though? they are basically racing against themselves. i cannot see another constructor getting close or am i missing something?
Said in another thread I can’t recall anything like it (as in a sustained period of utter domination) in the 30 odd years I’ve been watching the bikes. Maybe someone older than me can advise.
You could probably also add the lack of “aliens” compared to many previous seasons. Who’s left in the prime? Fabio, possibly… Whether that’s just a lull or the way riders are being brought through now (and cast aside just as quickly) is anyone’s guess.
According to Hodgy, David Moreira is “the next Marc” and he’s been saying it for the last three years. Shame no one else can remember it, he’ll likely have a couple of decent results early on and hell be talking about a WSB switch by June next year.
Kind of ironic the only riders you’d put your money behind these days if you were Ducati are Spanish riders . When the majority of rider contracts are up at the end of next year there’s not many Italian riders current or coming though you’d want to sign in time for the new regs. And if you did it would be more out of sentiment (Pecco and Bez), or a massive gamble (Vietti). Acosta and 93 would be my bet.
Ducati, like every other race team want total domination, at all times and to beat everyone. I would imagine they are absolutely delighted that they destroy all comers everytime out, and that no other team really comes close. But this will change, just ask Honda or Yamaha if you don't believe me or even the old boys from the 70s & 80s at Suzuki...
