Hi after 25 years on BMW I’m planning a switch over to a Multistrada before the summer 2026. My first big bike was a first generation Monster so really excited about returning after so many years. Just need to find the bike !

Thanks guys. I recently test rode a new generation V2S and really enjoyed it. I’m in my late 50’s and plan keeping it for a few years so looking for something lighter but sporty after years on bloated GSs. I know it won’t impress the purists but the new model ticks lots of boxes for me. May invest in the full sports exhaust for the sound and a few extra bhp - let’s see….
It's never about purism, it's the spirit. If it gives you a grin and the fizz, it's a Ducati. Enjoy and welcome! As for the exhaust, absolutely spoil your self, it's a beautiful sounding bike.
Welcome to the forum, I bought my first Ducati in June this year, a Streetfighter V2 after spending a number of years on BMW GSA's. I have to say the Ducati definitely makes me smile more. Good luck finding a bike, like others have said winter is a great time for a bargain. I remember buying a bike a few years back on December 17th, dead quiet in the dealer and they were keen to do a deal....I wonder why!!!
That V2S handled really well. Power wasn’t crazy but very useable. Gearbox in a different league to BMW so the lack of torque I can live with. Also looks fanatic. Need a bike capable of big mileage / touring so has to be a Multistrada really, especially at my age ! Yeah I’m thinking some cheeky offers in December ideally on a nearly new one.
